What is the Payback and ROI

Profit Profiler replaces tedious manual time sheets, check sheets, interview and survey techniques with the latest scalable automated technology. The low cost of Profit Profiler projects it will almost always provide instant payback versus using any of these alternative techniques - along with the opportunity for a very high return on investment.

Data Collection Comparison

The average time per transaction in Profit Profiler is around 10 seconds. We will assume it will take the same time to record a transaction on a manual time/check sheet. Therefore the data collection/recording function itself is the same in either a Profit Profiler project or using a manual/other automated approach.

Note: Complete activity logging transactions typically take longer than activity sampling transactions. However the use of Profit Profiler's Common Activity feature in logging significantly reduces the time for the most frequent transactions bringing the average time for sampling and logging transaction into line.

Project Configuration, Deployment and Summary Comparison

The project cost examples shown in the Costs section range from $290 to $780 per project. You can easily use the information in the Costs section to develop your own projection.

Divide the project cost by your average labor and overhead cost per hour to determine the equivalent number of hours you could spend to get the same information. A sample matrix that shows the relationship between project cost and your Labor and Overhead rate is shown below:

Project Cost

$300 $400 $500 $600 $700 $800
Labor & Overhead

Equivalent Hours

$20 15 20 25 30 35 40
$25 12 16 20 24 28 32
$30 10 13 17 20 23 27
$35 9 11 14 17 20 23
$40 8 10 14 15 18 20
$45 7 9 11 13 16 18
$50 6 8 10 12 14 16

Now if you, and the other staff who would become involved, could spend these equivalent hours (or less) would you, be able to:

Summarize your results

…..and get similar results, accuracy and supporting data in the same time frame as the Profit Profiler Project then you have a break even proposition i.e. you can get the same results doing it yourself.

If it were to take you longer to achieve the same result then Profit Profiler offers an immediate payback.

Note: We did not include Project Design as an activity as that would be required in both the Profit Profiler study and any alternate technique.  (Although Profit Profile’s template approach should reduce your design time).

Return on Investment

This is obviously totally dependant upon your own situation. Some clients have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings by making decisions based on accurate Profile data. Additionally, they have been able to verify the savings resulting from their changes by running follow-up projects.
